Thousands of people stay all night fighting wildfire
PSNews - By 1 p.m of June 29, the wildfire in Xuan Hong commune, Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh was basically controlled thanks to the efforts of various forces and local people.

Nguyen Phi Phuong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Xuan Hong said that the fire was detected on the afternoon of June 28 in the pine forest of village 7, Xuan Hong commune.
After the fire broke out, the local authorities reported the case to the higher levels and relevant agencies. Commando Battalion D31 of Military Region 4 coordinated with the local police force, forest rangers and some 500 local people turned up immediately at the scene to put out the fire and save the forest.
Due to the high temperature and strong winds, the fire spread quickly, despite the efforts of the participating forces.
The authority of Ha Tinh decided to relocate more than 100 households during the afternoon and evening of June 28 as the fire was approaching. By midnight, the fire was basically under control.
However, just some hours later, fire broke out again in other areas, including residential areas 1, 2 and 3 of Xuan An town.
Leaders of Ha Tinh Province and Nghi Xuan District mobilized thousands of border guards, forest guards, and military and police officers as well as local people to fight the wildfire.
The local authority, on the other hand, sought to evacuate people living in the nearby areas to safer place. By the morning of June 29, Nghe An Province continued to deploy forces, firefighting engines and other means to Nghi Xuan to fight the wildfire.
By the afternoon of June 29, the largest wildfire in the last 10 years in Nghi Xuan was controlled.
The authority of Nghi Xuan arrested a person suspected of causing the fire for investigation.
Another major fire in a pine forest in Huong Ho ward, Huong Tra town (Thua Thien – Hue Province) was basically put out. Earlier, the local authority had to relocate 20 households in residential area 9 of Huong Ho ward to safer place.
The Fire Fighting Police of Thua Thien – Hue deployed 4 fire engines and officers and soldiers in coordination with other forces successfully put out the fire.
Functional forces also applied many measures to prevent the fires from occurring, and step up investigation into the fire cases.
