ThuaThien- Hue Police continue supporting people in heavy rain
On November 6, Senior Colonel Pham Van Minh, Head of the Office of the ThuaThien Hue Provincial Police Department said, 17,000 houses in the province have now still been inundated. The provincial police force has mobilized hundreds of police officers and soldiers in coordination with district police to evacuate people in low-lying areas to safe place.
In Hue City, due to the delay of the North-South trains, hundreds of passengers were stuck in the Hue Rail Station from November 5. In response to the situation, the Criminal Police Division of the ThuaThien – Hue Provincial Police in coordination with local police maintained security and order, preventing thefts of passengers’ property at the station.
PhuVang is a lower-lying district that was damaged by the recent flooding. At this point, more than 3,100 houses were inundated in 0.1 - 0.5 meter of water. Colonel Huynh Cong Thanh, deputy head of the PhuVang District Police said that the local police mobilized 100% of its officers and soldiers to the communes and lagoons at risk of flash floods and riverside areas to be ready for rescue of people in case incidents occur.
The unit also told local people to move their assets to high locations, moor their boats, and but not to risk their lives by working in the river.
Meanwhile in Vy Da, the ward located near the Huong River, the rising level of river water caused heavy floods to many residential gardens. The Hue Municipal Police assigned a rescue team in collaboration with Vy Da ward police to allocate life jackets to dozens of households and took many people to safe places.
