PSNews - The Thua Thien Hue Police Division of Immigration sent a working mission to communes on the weekend of August 26 and 27, to help local people with their administrative affairs, such as changing or issuing new passports.

Executing Directive No.05 CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the movement "Learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morals and style" and the movement "Building brave, humane and dedicated police officers to serve the people," the Police Division of Immigration has dispatched various working teams to rural and coastal areas to issue new passports for people.

Early in the morning, police officers and soldiers of the division arrived at the head office of the Vinh An Commune People's Committee. They quickly installed machinery and equipment and were ready to serve local people who wanted to change or apply for new passports.

Chairman of Vinh An Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh said, the commune has about 1,800 households with more than 8,700 people residing in 7 villages in An Bang and Ha Uc areas.

In particular, the Ha Uc area has 900 households of which 40% have their children working in Laos. Meanwhile, many households in An Bang have their relatives living in the United States or Australia. So a large number of people in the two areas have the need for traveling abroad to study, work or visit their relatives.

Thanks to the clear guidance and wholehearted assistance of Thua Thien Hue police officers, nearly 100 people in Vinh An commune and neighborhoods have their passports issued or renewed.

In addition, ThuaThien Hue police explained the procedures for applying for general passports and Viet-Lao border laissez-passers, as well as the procedures for applying for issuance, extension and modification of visas or temporary residence permits.

Major Nguyen Thi Xuan Hue, Deputy Head of the Thua Thien Hue Police Division of Immigration said that, following the action slogan "Innovation, Discipline, Responsibility, Effectiveness", all police officers and soldiers of the unit always uphold sense of responsibility for serving the people, while taking the measurements to the fulfillment of their assigned tasks via the working efficiency and the people’s satisfaction.

"In the first seven months of 2017, the unit has also carried out extensively the dissemination of the immigration law among local people, especially in the areas with a large number of people requesting general passports to work or study overseas. Such legal dissemination activities have helped local people and organizations to understand and comply with legal regulations on immigration," said Major Hue.
