Traffic police nationwide joins campaign against drug and drink driving

PSNews – The Traffic Police Department on March 15 officially launched an intensive campaign nationwide to strictly handle offences of traffic regulations, particularly drug and drinking driving.

The campaign runs from March 15 to December 31.
The campaign aims to raise the public awareness of traffic law observance while strictly handling the use of drugs and alcohol while driving.
During the campaign, the traffic police will increase patrols and checks on routes to prevent and handle all violations of traffic safety regulations, as well as prevent and fight crimes on roads.
In 2020, the nationwide traffic police force handled 185,323 cases of drink-driving and 1,410 cases of drug driving.
In January 2021, the traffic police force handled 22,884 cases of drink-driving and 247 cases of drug-driving.
In February 2021, the traffic police forces handle 22,544 cases of drink-driving and 102 cases of drug-driving.
