Traffic police officers as living “makers” for safe transportation

Traffic police officers had served as living “markers” guiding people and vehicles to safely moving through flooded areas on 1A National Highway.

By 3 pm October 15th, various areas of National Highway 1A running thru Quang Binh province have been under water, traffic circulation was completely stalled.

Particularly in Dong Hoi city, Phu Hai and Bac Ly communes had been flooded. Other flooded areas included Quang Thuan commune and Ba Don town of Le Thuy district.

Various other provincial and national routes have been covered with water.

Rail lines in various areas have been flooded and even suffered serious landslides, train number SE19 carrying over 200 passengers has been stuck in Lac Son station.

Police officers ensuring safety on traffic routes

Major General Tu Hong Son, Director of Quang Binh Public Security Department has directed Tuyen Hoa district public security forces to deploy greater number of officers to maintain security and social orders, organized to provide food and drinking water for stuck passengers, try their utmost to leave anyone without food.

On flooded traffic routes, traffic police officers served as living markers guiding vehicles and people to ensure safety of everyone, trying their best to avoid congestion.

To date, over 1,000 officers and various vehicles have been deployed to assist people in flooded areas to move to safer areas.
