Unannounced fire inspections to be proceeded in 7 localities

PSNews –Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security on April 19 chaired a teleconference on joint-force inspection of fire prevention and firefighting work at fire-prone apartment buildings and crowded areas.

The event drew the participation of representatives of relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Construction.

According to reports at the event, in recent years, the number of fire and explosion incidents has been on the rise, causing huge losses of human and property, as well as psychological insecurity in the community.

Against this backdrop, the fire police force continued trying their best to play their core role in preventing and fighting fire incidents. They were active in advising the Party Committees and the local administrations on measures to enhance the fire prevention and fighting work, support victims of fire incidents and r overcome the consequences.

The fire forces, especially the Fire Police, at all levels also grasp the situations, to prevent and fight plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces with the aim of causing social disturbances.. They focused on swiftly resolving the situation at the grassroots level, denying bad elements and forces from conducting any acts of terrorism or sabotage or taking advance of fire incidents to provoke social anger, negatively affecting local security and order.

Fire police units also mobilized their forces and fire-fighting means to prevent and control the situation of fire and explosion, and carried out fire inspections in tall buildings, trade centers and other crowded places.

Meanwhile, investigation agencies, the Fire and Rescue Police Department and other relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security closely coordinated and promptly investigated many cases of fire and explosionto identify the causes as well as the responsibilities of individuals and groups.

In conclusion, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh stressed that all public security agencies and units have well implemented the Public Security Minister’s dispatch on strengthening the work of fire prevention and fighting and rescue as well as the plan of the Ministry of Public Security on inter-branch inspection of fire prevention and fighting work at condominiums, high buildings, skyscrapers and crowded places at a high risk of fire.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security then revealed that an inter-branch teams will proceed unannounced inspections on fire prevention and fighting work in 7 localities.

The inspection will be based on specific criteria with the aim of assessing the real situation and actual fire prevention and fighting capabilities of the responsible organizations as well as the quality of fire alarms and monitoring systems.
