Recently, people have also seen young attractive mobile policewomen at important events and hot spots of traffic. They proved to be elegant, nice, friendly and considerate while guiding the traffic on the road, but decent and proper while on patrol along streets.

Among Hanoi’s policewomen, there are several young female officers, who are members of a special policewoman squad of  Battalion 5, the Hanoi Mobile Police Regiment, the Hanoi Municipal Police.

The mobile police female squad is stationed in Lang street. The lunar New Year (Tet) is coming. Girls usually go shopping to buy new and nice dresses for Tet or support their families in preparing Tet dishes and tidying up their homes but the 7 mobile police women are still practicing martial arts in the field in a cold weather.

"Although they are young. They all have just graduated the Armed Police Higher School, and have been working here only for 2 months but they got in tune with the work very quickly. They are on a par with male officers", Commander of Company 2 of the Mobile Police Battalion, Captain Dinh Van Sang.

People was so shock seeing Sergeant Major Hoang Thi Nhu Quynh fighting against several “criminals” in an exercise. She performed moves nicely and agilely but in a strong and clear-cut manner. She could knocked out all the “criminals” in a few minutes.

After the exercise, Nhu Quynh said: "When practicing this exercise, we should perform every move exactly because there will be no breastplates or safety cables in the reality. Some difficult actions require steel spirit and bravery. Therefore, this exercise has several levels, and you should gradually upgrade your level until you master all moves." Only love and passion for the work could help these girls overcome so many difficulties and challenges and become capable mobile police officers.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quang Tuyen, Mobile Police Battalion Commander said that the unit has various facilities for physical training and martial arts. But he added that everything, from walls to offices and fences can be training facilities for mobile policemen. He stressed, “The more sweat in training, the less blood in real battle.”

Luckily, these female police officers have received much attention and support from unit leaders. Sergeant Major Loc Thi Hien said, although she and her female colleagues were enrolled in the first female armed police course of the Armed Police Higher School, she was still surprised and worried when she was posted to a mobile police unit that used to be for men only. But after two months, she got used to the hard work of the unit, and all the female mobile policewomen consider the unit their second home.

The "steel flowers" team with their effort and resolve at work are making their part to maintaining social security and order in Hanoi and preserving a peaceful life for local people.
