Vietnam, Austria boost cooperation in fire prevention and rescue

PSNews - Currently, some agencies of Austria are supporting Vietnam with high-quality equipment of fire prevention and rescue.

Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security had a meeting with Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Loidl on September 12, to discuss the investment in a project to build the Information and Management Center for Fire Prevention and Rescue.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh expressed delight at fruitful outcomes of the bilateral cooperation between the two law enforcement agencies of Vietnam and Austria in preventing and fighting crime.

He spoke highly of the effective and in-depth cooperation between  the two sides over the past time.

Currently, some agencies of Austria are supporting Vietnam with high-quality equipment of fire prevention and rescue.

Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh stated that, according to reports from local firefighting police units, the Austria-provided systems have high-quality hardware and software as well as modern functions, helping cut down the time of approaching fire locations and handling incidents while facilitating the management and command.  

He asked the two sides to scrutinize the results of the first phase of the project “The Information and Management Center for Fire Prevention and Rescue”, and continue to develop the second phase under the schedule.

Deputy Minister also noted that the center should be synchronized with the existing facilities across the country, while all hardware and software of the center’s systems must be expansible.

For his part, the Austrian Ambassador thanked Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh for the warm reception and his care for the project. The Ambassador affirmed to exert all-out effort to promote the relationship between Austria and Vietnam. 

He vowed that the Austrian law enforcement agencies will closely collaborate with Vietnamese partners, and deploy new cooperation programmes with the Vietnamese side while accelerating the construction of the Information and Management Center for Fire Prevention and Rescue.
