Vietnam Buddhist Sangha visits Ministry of Public Security on occasion of Lunar New Year

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security on January 14 received a delegation of the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam (BSV) led by Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem, Vice Chairman of the BSV’s Central Committee visiting the Ministry of Public Security on the occasion of the 2020 Lunar New Year.

At the reception, on behalf of the BSV’s Central Committee, Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem wished leaders of the Ministry of Public Security as well as all officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security Forces good health and success in ensuring political security, social order and safety for the people and Buddhists in the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem also expressed his sincere thanks to the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for their supports for the BSV and Buddhist activities in Vietnam over the past time. He hoped to receive further coordination and assistance from the Ministry of Public Security in the coming time.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang thanked the BSV’s Central Committee for its New Year visit to the leadership of the ministry and extended best wishes to leaders of the BSV and all Buddhists on the occasion of the Year of Rat 2020.

The Deputy Minister briefed the delegation on outstanding achievements of the People's Public Security Forces in 2019 and praised the contributions of the BSV to those achievements over the past time.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang hoped that the BSV’s Central Committee will promote the spirit of national solidarity and harmony and the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism" and the good morality of Buddhism.

He also wished that the BSV’s Central Committee would encourage Buddhists to follow the Party's guidelines and the State's laws, and coordinate with the People's Public Security Forces in maintaining security and order, contributing to building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
