Vietnam, Cambodia promote cooperation in security and crime prevention

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security received a delegation of the General Department of Public Security under the Ministry of Home Affairs of Cambodia. 

At the reception, the head of the Cambodian delegation briefed the Vietnamese public security leader on the outcomes of cooperation between the two sides in 2016 relating to key issues such as: training and exchange of delegation; and some new contents and directions for 2017.

The Public Security Ministry of Vietnam and the Home Affairs Ministry of Cambodia focused on assessing both good results and remaining limitations in cooperation between the two countries over the past year. The two sides agreed to boost coordination and expand cooperation in 2017.

On behalf of leaders of the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh highly valued the traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia. He underlined that in the current complex situation of crimes, especially transnational crimes and hi-tech crimes, the two sides should promptly exchange information and resolutely combat crimes of all kinds as well as defeat all plots and acts attempting to the traditional friendship and unity between Vietnam and Cambodia.

In 2017, the two sides should continuously cooperate in training, exchange of delegations, and well prepare for the upcoming high-ranking working visit of the Home Affairs Ministry of Cambodia to Vietnam.
