Vietnam, China beef up security cooperation
PSNews – Vietnam and China should effectively deploy cooperation mechanism, suggested Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security at a meeting with Vice Director of the Jiangsu Security Department Jiang Ai Guo, who led a visiting delegation of the Chinese Ministry of State Security.

At the meeting on the afternoon of 9th November, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh said, Vietnam-China cooperation and relations are continuously developing in many areas, particularly security sector.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Chinese Ministry of State Security have well maintained cooperation mechanisms of exchange of delegations at all levels, information sharing, and personnel training, over the past years.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh highly appreciated the cooperation between the two ministries in protecting national security of each country, highlighting the successes of the China-Southeast Asian security services counter-terrorism dialogue in April 2016 and the 2nd Vietnam-China Strategic Security Dialogue at Deputy Ministerial level in September 2016.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh, both ministries have taken strong steps in preventing crimes of all kinds, particularly non-traditional security crime, high-tech crime, transnational crime, contributing to ensuring social and national security of each country.
As the visiting delegation was constituted of a number of leaders of Chinese localities, General Thanh suggested they should actively promote security cooperation between localities of the two countries.
The guest thanked the host for the hearty reception, saying that visiting Chinese delegates all felt friendly and warm during their visit to Vietnam.
The guest said, the delegation of the Chinese Ministry of State Security toured to some landmarks in Hanoi, which helped them broaden their knowledge of the Vietnamese culture and people.
Visiting Vice Director of the Jiangsu Security Department Jiang Ai Guo believed that, after each exchange of delegations between the two ministries, the mechanism of bilateral security cooperation will operate more effectively.
