Vietnam – China to foster security cooperation

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee on September 29 received a delegation of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of State Security of China, led by its Deputy Director.

During the meetings, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam noted with joy that practical and fruitful results of security cooperation between Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and China’s State Security have contributed to deepening the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.

Specifically, the two sides intensified sharing of information on the crime situation of the other country, methods and tactics of criminals while actively cooperating with each other in analyzing, evaluating, forecasting global and regional situations and measures to address new threats related to national interests and security of each country.

In the near future, the two sides agreed to soon reach a cooperation mechanism between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of State Security of China as well as between functional units of the two ministries, which will serve as a bridge to strengthen mutual trust, contributing to deepening the traditional friendship between the two Parties and peoples.

The two sides agreed to increase sharing of information and experience in crime prevention and control, as well as in ensuring security for significant political events in each country; to closely coordinate with each other to ensure security and safety of high-level visits and important political and social events held in each country; and to ensure the legitimate interests of citizens working, living and studying in the other country.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in cyber security and support each other in training personnel.
