Vietnam – India police forces strengthen cooperation

PSNews - Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security led a high-ranking public security delegation to visit India at the invitation of the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, between November 1st and 7th.

On November 3, Vietnamese Deputy Public Security Minister Bui Van Thanh and Indian Minister of State at the Ministry of Home Affairs Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir had talks in New Delhi. The two leaders reviewed the outcomes of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation signed between the two ministries in 2008.

In the continuously complex international and regional context with common threats of terrorism and transnational crime, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between forces of the two ministries. It is necessary for the two sides to focus cooperation on prevention and fight against both traditional and non-traditional crimes; personnel training and improvement of enforcement capabilities; technology and logistics; security industry; and exchange of high-ranking delegations.  

On November 4, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister and his entourage met and had talks with, Deputy Security Advisor of India Arvind Gupta.

At the event, the two high-ranking security officials signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Office of the National Security Council of India.
