Vietnam – Laos Public Security Friendship Association makes debut

PSnews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a ceremony on October 10 to introduce the Vietnam – Laos Public Security Friendship Association. 

Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Public Security chaired the event.

A representative of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association announced a decision on the establishment of the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association of the Public Security Forces. Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam was appointed to be the President of the newly-formed association.

Mr. Tran Van Tuy hands over the Decision on establishing the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association of the Public Security Forces to Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam highlighted the significance of the special solidarity and traditional relations between Vietnam and Laos, serving as a bright example of the time-tested, loyal and pure ties between two nations in their struggle for independence, freedom and social advancement of each country.

The Vietnam – Laos traditional special relationship was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane during the time the two nations fought the common enemy, and has been fostered since then by successive leaders and people of the two countries.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam; Mr. Tran Van Tuy; Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Thongsavanh Phomvihane and other delegates of the event.

Regarding its missions, the association is responsible for disseminating information and educating Vietnamese people, particularly public security officers, about the fine traditional friendship between the two countries, as well as between the MPS of Vietnam and the Ministry of Security of Laos, with the aim of raising the sense of responsibility of the officers and soldiers in the Public Security Forces for preserving and fostering the bilateral ties.

It is also in charge of holding practical and meaningful activities in celebration of anniversaries of the two counties, two ministries, as well as meetings to pay tribute to and visits to senior public security officers and families of officers with great contributions to the relations between the two countries and two ministries.

An overview of the ceremony

On this occasion, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association Central Committee and the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association chapters of various provinces and cities presented 400 million VND to support Lao victims of the Attapeu dam collapse.
