Vietnam, UK to boost security cooperation

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security on November 15, received United Kingdom (UK) Ambassador Gereth Ward to Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam emphasized that the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the UK has seen positive developments, and fruitful results in politics, economics, national defense and security.

In this context, the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the law enforcement agencies of the UK has been expanded with remarkable outcomes, especially in the fields of immigration management and crime prevention and fight.

Minister To Lam suggested that the two sides should improve the effectiveness of cooperation in personnel training and capacity building, boost exchange of information and experience in prevention and fight against crimes, especially organized crime, transnational crime, human trafficking and cybercrime.

Sincerely thanking to Minister To Lam for the reception, Ambassador Gareth Ward believed that, in the coming years, the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the law enforcement agencies of the UK would continue to attain good results in the fields of social order and safety, crime prevention and suppression.

Ambassador Gareth Ward also pledged to do his best to contribute to promoting bilateral relations between two countries in general, and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the law enforcement agencies of the UK in particular, to a new height.
