Vietnam and Laos promote cooperation in security

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on October 30 met received a delegation of the Internal Security Department under the General Department of Security, the Ministry of Security of Laos, led by its Director Colonel Phengkham Vongsombath.

At the reception 

The traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been cultivated in all fields, particular in politics, economic, culture, social affairs, security and defence, emphasized Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam at the reception. 

On that basis, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and the Ministry of Security of Laos implemented various cooperation activities in 2018 and achieved various fine outcomes. The bilateral ties between the two ministries have now become an important pillar in the overall relations between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam also believed that the visit of Mr. Phengkham Vongsombath and the Lao delegation contributed positively to strengthening the relations between the two countries in general and between the two ministries in particular. 

He suggested both sides promote their ties in all cooperation areas, particularly in protection of internal security, bringing benefits to the peoples of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Mr. Phengkham Vongsombath thanked Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam for his kind reception and highly appreciated the mutual political trust between the two countries as well as cooperation and mutual support between the two ministries. He also pledged to try his best to promote traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and two ministries.
