Vietnam and New Zealand promote cooperation on crime prevention and fight
PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on July 27 led a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to hold talks with a delegation of the New Zealand Police (NZP), led by Commissioner of the New Zealand Police Mike Bush.

Speaking at the talks, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong expressed his pleasure over the fine developments in the cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and the NZP.
In the framework of the agreement on police cooperation and control of transnational crimes signed in 2010, the two sides have regularly exchanged information on transnational crimes, particularly drug-related crime, money laundering, hi-tech crime, international terrorism, human trafficking and illegal immigration as well as have achieved various fine outcomes.
Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong stressed that the MPS of Vietnam highly appreciated the support from the NZP in solving Vietnam’s requests related to criminal offenses, hi-tech crime, money laundering and drug-related crime as well as providing short-term training courses for Vietnamese police officers on the special subjects proposed by the MPS of Vietnam, particularly a recent training courses at the basic and advanced on money laundering investigations.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong suggested that the two sides continue to effectively implement every specific cooperation content of the signed cooperation agreement on transnational crimes; increase exchanges of information, situations of each country, results of investigation, as well as of experiences and measures to combat transnational organized crimes via visits of delegations of the two sides, conferences and seminars on crime prevention and fight organized by the two countries or multilateral international cooperation channels such as Interpol; and exchange information about criminal fugitives of one country hiding in the other.
Mr. Mike Bush highly appreciated the outcomes of cooperation of both sides in the past time and expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two parties would be further promoted and gain more practical results in all cooperation fields of mutual concern.
