Vietnam and Singapore boost cooperation in security

PSNews - The 10th bilateral conference at the deputy-ministerial level between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore took place in Hanoi on April 23.

The conference was co-chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Mr. Pang Kin Keong, Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs of Singapore.

At the conference, the two sides agreed to maintain and promote the comprehensive cooperation on prevention and fight against crimes, as well as in ensuring security and safety in the cyber-space and fighting drug-related crime. The two sides also agreed to expand cooperation in training and improving abilities of law enforcement officials of the two countries, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Singapore as well as the cooperation between the two ministries.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong emphasized that, on the basis of the Joint Declaration and cooperation agreements signed between the two ministries in the fields of security and order, the MPS of Vietnam has actively promoted the implementation of the cooperation deals with the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore in the fields of law enforcement, crime prevention, fire prevention and fighting and rescue; capacity building.

The Vietnamese side also actively cooperated with the Singaporean side to ensure security and safety of citizens of one country in the other country. This has contributed to deepening the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership, for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and world.

Mr. Pang Kin Keong expressed his pleasure at the visit of the high-level delegation of the MPS of Vietnam to the country. He also hoped that the cooperation between the two ministries will further be promoted comprehensively, both in breadth and depth and with practical effects.
