Vietnamese MPS promotes health cooperation with Cuban Ministry of Interior

The Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (MPS) on May 19 hosted an online seminar for medical experts of the Vietnamese MPS and the Ministry of Interior of Cuba to exchange work experience.

During the two-day event, experts of the two sides exchange their experience in COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, regenerative medicine, and molecular biology.
Experts and doctors from Cuban CIMEQ Hospital and the hospitals under the Vietnamese MPS also discuss issues related to cancer therapies and COVID-19 vaccines.
In his opening remarks, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations under the MPS affirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic has broken out in many countries, threatened the health and lives of the people across the globe and adversely impacted socio-economic development of the world.
Amidst the dangerous pandemic, Cuban doctors and scientists have exerted their efforts to research and develop 5 vaccines against COVID-19, of which two are currently in the final testing phase.
Lieutenant General Son hoped that through the seminar, experts and doctors of the two sides exchange and learn valuable experiences from each other, especially in the field of vaccine research and COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
He also affirmed that, in the coming time, the Department of Foreign Relations will propose the MPS leadership to hold more meetings and experience exchanges with the Cuban side in the fields of mutual interest.
On the occasion of the 39th founding anniversary of the CIMEQ Hospital (1982 - 2021), Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son wished the leaders, experts and doctors of Cuban hospital good health and success.
