The youths of the Cao Bang Provincial Police Department on October 28 visited a schoolhouse in Lung Liu village, Dan Chu commune, Hoa An district, and joined hands with youths from other local organizations in building a rural road for local people.

Youths of Cao Bang Police have to carry heavy materials, including cement, sand and gravel, on their back from the foot of the mount.

This was part of a youth-funded project launched by Miss World Vietnam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh called “Dap duong, xay uoc mo” (Building roads, building dreams). Lung Liu is home to 33 poor Mong ethnic minority households with nearly 200 people.

The schoolhouse in the village has over 40 students.

There is only one narrow path leading to Lung Liu, known as one of the poorest villages of Hoa An district. The village is often islanded by heavy rains.

The charitable project is the initiative of Luong Thuy Linh, Miss World Vietnam 2019, a girl born and grew up in Cao Bang.

To upgrade the path leading to the village, young police officers have to carry heavy materials, including cement, sand and gravel, on their back from the foot of the mount, said Captain Le Hoai Nam, Secretary of the Youth Union Chapter of the Cao Bang Provincial Police Department.

Some 250 young police officers and local youths are trying their best to build the road.

Police officers present gifts to local students.

Miss World Vietnam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh estimated that some 700 tons of materials will be carried by the participating youths to build the road. The project is expected to be completed this November. The upgraded road will facilitate transportation of people within Lung Liu and to its neighborhoods, contributing to promoting local economic development.
