Earlier, a male patient named C.D.L (residing at An Giang Province) was taken to the Can Tho Central General Hospital with his left hand severed. He had lost a lot of blood after his hand had been chopped off in a knife clash with other people.
The doctors conducted an urgent surgery, re-connecting his hand back to the arm.
According to doctor Huynh Thong Em, Director of the Orthopedic Trauma Center under the Can Tho Central General Hospital, this was a difficult surgery that required much surgery technique and professional expertise.
On June 14, after the surgery, the patient was reportedly in a stable condition. His left fingers can move slightly. The patient is now receiving further treatment at the Orthopedic Trauma Center.
