The LF-WAO team from Lac Hong University in the southern province of Dong Nai won the 2019 Vietnam Robot Contest (Robocon Vietnam) in the northern province of Hai Duong on May 12.
Completing its performance within 24 seconds, the LF-WAO surpassed seven other teams to seize victory. It was the second consecutive year a team from Lac Hong University had won the contest.
The winner will represent Vietnam at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) in Mongolia this August.
SKH3 from Hung Yen University of Technology and Education came second, while third prizes were presented to two teams – Sao Do Legend from Sao Do Hai Duong University and DCN-DT3 from Hanoi University of Industry.
The 2019 Robocon promotes the idea of “Sharing the knowledge” initiated by host Mongolia, with its content inspired by the Urtuu system, first innovated by the nomadic Mongolians for exchanging information over long distances, and by the Mongolian folk game Shagai, during which players flick animal ankle bones at a target.
