TechDemo 2018 showcases nearly 500 technological products

The Technology Demonstration and Connection Conference 2018 (TechDemo) opened in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on October 4, aiming to introduce the latest scientific and technological research results and products to help enhance the capacity of technological application and the quality and effectiveness of technology transfers, according to NDO.

The three-day event, jointly held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology and Can Tho People's Committee, attracts nearly 500 technological products, processes and equipment from 120 enterprises, research institutes, universities, and scientific and technological organizations.
Among them, there are around 100 technologies from the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Germany, the US, Israel and Japan.
The event focuses on agriculture, forestry, new materials, construction, motorbike and automobile industry, and the Internet of Things. Renewable energy and environment protection technologies will also feature. This year, an online technology database was created to provide robust support for organizations and individuals in need of information technology suppliesSpeaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Tran Van Tung, emphasized the important role of demonstrations and connections in technology supply and demand in promoting technological application, transfer and renewal.
The activities will help to improve the competitiveness of enterprises' goods and create conditions for scientists to apply their results in reality, thus contributing to socio-economic development and bringing about practical economic efficiency, Tung affirmed.
