PSNews - Targets of Shadow Brokers are mainly large-scale monetary funds and banks in the Middle East (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Palestine, Yemen).

According to VNCERT, a hacker team named Shadow Brokers has stolen a spying tool system, which is able to exploit data from the National Security Agency (NSA) of the US and from any computers using Windows (except for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016).

Although targets of Shadow Brokers are mainly large-scale monetary funds and banks in the Middle East (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Palestine, Yemen), this could pose risks for large-scale cyber security for many other countries, including Vietnam.

To limit risks, VNCERT recommends agencies, organizations and enterprises to take effective prevention measures, such as installing latest operating system and antivirus programmes as well as IPS/IDS and firewalls.

Noticeably, when agencies, organizations and enterprises detect incidents but are unable to handle them, they should immediately contact VNCERT by calling numbers 04 3640 4423; 0934 424 009 or reporting the case at e-mail address: ir@vncert.gov.vn.
