VNCERT warns of malicious code targeting banks

VNCERT said there had been a series of organised attacks targeting a number of banks and the country’s key infrastructures. Hackers were likely to have carefully studied their victims and employed advanced tactics to hijack their systems to steal information.

The agency's vice director Nguyen Khac Lich, also urged the coutry's authorities and the telecommunications sector and the airlines and transport industries to take extra precautions against organised attacks.

It said the hackers made sneaky probes into the attacked entities. They had used hi-tech measures to bypass cyber security systems, sought to seize control of users’ computers and get into other computer systems containing important information.
