PSNews - Recent Decree 49/2017/ND-CP articulates that mobile users must provide their accurate personal information and portrait to the network operators by April 24 to save their accounts from being blocked.

This move aims to protect mobile users’ accounts; and at the same time, it helps competent State agencies to have accurate data and information about mobile accounts as well as to control the current prevalent use of improperly-registered SIM cards.

At this point, local network operators have sent the text messages to their customers, requesting them to provide their personal information, including their full name, ID number and portrait.

Viettel (the Military-Run Industry and Telecommunication Group) said, it has deployed more employees to local transactions offices, and installed mobile booths in remote areas to assist customers in completing their registration.

VinaPhone also said that it will send messages to their subscribers without sufficient personal information, requesting them to soon supplement the information. VinaPhone will also extend the working hours to 9pm everyday at its transaction points nationwide.

Along with Viettel and VinaPhone, MobiFone has affirmed that it has sent messages to all subscribers and asked them for additional personal information.

Customers who want to check their account status can text "TTTB" to 1414.
