Bomb attack in Egypt: Three injured victims set out for home

Three Vietnamese tourists, who were seriously injured in a roadside bomb attack in Egypt in December 2018, are to leave hospital to travel home on January 9.

The group are scheduled to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City on January 10, according to the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt.

All are in good health status, the embassy confirmed, adding that they will continue to receive treatment in hospital in HCM City.

The three were among the group of Vietnamese tourists on the bus hit in the bombing near the world famous Giza pyramids at 18:15 on December 28 (Egypt time). Three persons were killed and 12 others were wounded in the bombing. 

There were 18 people on the bus at that time, comprising 15 Vietnamese and three Egyptians.

Nine tourists who suffered light injuries or were not injured in the bomb attack came back to Vietnam on January 1. The bodies of the three dead victims were brought home on January 6.
