Enchanting beauty of Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad

The Chowmahalla Palace complex in Hyderabad, Telangana state, India was built during the reign of Nawab Salabath Jung, the third son of Asaf Jahi around 1751 AD. Asaf Jahi was the leading courtier of the Mughal Empire until 1724, when he founded the independent monarchy of Hyderabad and assumed the title "Nizam of Hyderabad". The Asaf Jahi dynasty had only seven recognized rulers,

The Chowmahalla Palace is a complex with four palaces standing  symmetrically around a large water reservoir, forming a majestic protective area. The heart of the palace is called Khilwat Mubarak.

The grand Durbar Hall has a pure marble platform on which the the royal throne was laid.

It is said that the Chowmahalla Palace used to have around 7,000 servants available on any given day. Because of its grandeur and charm, it has been compared to the Enchanted Gardens of the Arabian Nights.

The Durbar hall has been converted into a museum, displaying costumes, books and rare artifacts from Nizams' collections arranged on its two upper sides.

The Chowmahalla Palace consists of two courtyards, namely the Northern courtyard and the Southern courtyard. The Southern courtyard of Chownahalla features four other palaces called Afzal Mahal, Tahniyat Mahal, Mahtab Mahal and Aftab Mahal.

Currently, the Chowmahalla Palace is considered a tribute to Persian architecture and the aesthetics of the Nizams, a monument to Hyderabad's glorious history.
