"Spectrum of the Seas" brings 4,600 foreign visitors to Nha Trang
PSNews - Spectrum of the Seas (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines), a ship among the world's top 10 most luxurious cruise liners, arrived at Nha Trang Bay in the southcentral coastal province of Khanh Hoa on August 2, carrying 4,600 foreign visitors onboard.
Operated by Royal Caribbean International (RCI), the 347-meter-long vessel has 16 decks, more than 2,000 cabins and a capacity of 5,600 passengers.
The cruise ship was unable to dock in Nha Trang Port due to its large size and instead had to be anchored in Nha Trang Bay before using smaller boats to transport passengers to the mainland.
As reported, the majority of passengers are from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.
During their one-day stay, the foreign guests visited some of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, including Ponagar Cham towers, Truong Son craft village, and Dam market. They also experienced going on a cyclo tour, enjoying mud bathing, and learning cooking in the Memento tourist area in Dien Khanh district.
The cruise ship left Nha Trang for Hong Kong on Wednesday evening and is scheduled to return to Vietnam on August 21.
Khanh Hoa province has welcomed 10 cruise ships with a combined 9,600 passengers since early this year. The province will receive another cruise ship this month, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
Khanh Hoa province is aiming to welcome approximately four million tourists this year, including 1.5 million international visitors, and ern VND21 trillion in revenue.
So far this year Vietnam has received 6.6 million foreign visitors, equivalent to 83% of the full year's eight-million target.
Spectrum of the Seas belongs to the Quantum-Ultra line of ships and was manufactured by Meyer Werft (Germany), being put into service at the beginning of 2019. The ship stretches for 347m long, stands at nearly 63m high with 18 floors, boasts a capacity of nearly 169,400 tonnes, and is rated as the most modern ship in the world. This is the third time that the ship has made a Southeast Asian voyage.
