Hanoi asked to make a clear change in traffic order and safety

PSNews - Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Van Long chaired a meeting with the Hanoi Municipal Police Department on the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the capital city over the past time, on the afternoon of April 7, 2023.

At the meeting, delegates pointed out causes of traffic accidents, proposed both short-term and long-term solutions to restore traffic order and safety in the capital area.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long thanked the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, Hanoi Municipal People's Committee and authorities at all levels in the capital for their sound leadership of the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the city.

He also appreciated the local authorities and people for their effective support for the local police forces in recent years, and praised the local police forces for their efforts and achievements in the first quarter of 2023 while reducing the number of traffic accident in Hanoi by more than 26%.

“This is a very meaningful and humane figure,” stressed the Deputy Minister.

Regarding to the local police forces in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long suggested that the Hanoi Municipal Police Department should be proactive in advising authorities at all levels on measures to ensure traffic order and safety while strictly and effectively implementing instructions of the Ministry of Public Security on the matter.

He urged the local police to create a positive change in public order, security and safety, contributing to ensuring life and health of the local people.

To meet this end, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long suggested revising traffic safety and urban regulations, raising people's awareness of traffic law observance and building a civilized traffic culture in Hanoi.
