Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security and Swiss Federal Police seek to strengthen cooperation

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang had talks with Deputy Commander of the Swiss Federal Police Simon Sporri to discuss international issues and bilateral cooperation.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang was a member of a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the 54th Annual Conference of the World Economic Forum from January 16-18 in Davos, Switzerland.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Deputy Commander of the Swiss Federal Police agreed on eight contents to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice of Switzerland and the Swiss Federal Police during the current period in the coming time.

Accordingly, the two sides early study the possibility of negotiating bilateral agreements on extradition and transfer of people sentenced to prison.

Next, the two sides establish a bilateral cooperation mechanism between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Swiss authorities in the fields of security and crime control.

The Swiss law enforcement forces share information about terrorism and support Vietnam in building capacity of the Vietnamese air security force.

The Swiss authorities help and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to stably and safely do business and live legally in Switzerland to make positive contributions to the development of Switzerland and strengthen the valuable traditional friendship between the two peoples.
