Outstanding Asian artists to display works in Hanoi

An exhibition of works by outstanding Asian artists will be held in Hanoi from November 5-25, according to the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

A total of 81 works by 27 artists from 13 countries and territories will be on show, mostly paintings, but there are also sculptural and installation creations.

Among the 19 international artists featured at the exhibition, two each are from Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. Meanwhile, Myanmar, Japan, Hong Kong (China), Bangladesh and Australia each has one artist. The host country has eight artists attending.   

According to Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Vi Kien Thanh, who is also the curator of the exhibition, this is the first time Vietnam has been able to invite leading Asian artists to show their works in Hanoi.

This is an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese art lovers to see the works of outstanding Asian artists, Thanh said, adding that it also helps expand international cultural and art exchanges.
