Da Nang inaugurates APEC park expansion project

The Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee held a ceremony to inaugurate the APEC Statue Park expansion project in Binh Hien ward, Hai Chau district, on January 10.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh stated that the expanded APEC Statue Park plays an important role, as it reflects not only the spirit of international integration, but also the desire of local people for a green, friendly, harmonious, and peaceful city.
The project will become an architectural highlight on the banks of the romantic Han River, connecting with Bach Dang pedestrian street, Nguyen Van Troi bridge, and Tran Hung Dao street.
In the coming time, the Da Nang authorities will install an artistic lighting systems on both sides of the Han River with the aim of contributing to improving the cultural life of the city's people and attracting more visitors.
Covering an area of 8,668 sq.m, the project was invested in by the Da Nang Urban Development and Infrastructure Investment Project Management Unit. It costs VND759.15 billion (US$33.47 million).
Before the expansion, it covered an area of nearly 3,000 sq.m and displayed statues representing the economies that joined the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang.
