The Da Nang Municipal Department of Construction on June 30 announced, Da Nang authorities have approved to grant more than 759 billion VND to expand the existing APEC Park in Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District.

As reported, the project's investor and management unit is the Management Board of the Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects. The expansion project is expected to be implemented during the 2019 - 2022 period.

Opened since 2017, the APEC Sculpture Park is located just west of the city’s iconic Dragon Bridge over the Han River, showcasing works that reflect a common spirit of solidarity and cooperation between member states, including Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam, among others.

Covering an area of 8,668sqm, the expanded area will consist of a public park, a stroll garden associated with an existing sculpture garden, a main stage, a water fountain, a stage for organising cultural events, a playground for children, greenery areas, a parking area, and underground public toilets.

The expansion of this wonderful cultural landmark aims to create even more green spaces in the heart of the city, and allow diplomatic events and festivals to be held here as well.
