Japan disaster relief to Thua Thien Hue province affected by natural disasters

Sharing the difficulties and losses of Vietnamese people, Japanese Government through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has decided to provide disaster relief goods to the people of Thua Thien Hue province, including 50 water purifiers and 250 plastic sheets, in order to help people in the flood-hit areas overcome the consequences of natural disasters and resume normal life.

Since early October 2020, torrential rain brought about by storms No. 6 and 7 have caused severe river floods in the coastal Central of Vietnam. Over 7 million people in the area have been affected and thousands of hectares of rice and crops have been damaged. Since October 16, 2020, as consequences of tropical depressions, torrential downpour has returned and overlapping floods have resulted in heavy losses to human lives and production in the area.
