Commercial flights from Ho Chi Minh city to Hanoi resumed
Vietnam Airlines Flight VN216 left Ho Chi Minh city for Hanoi on October 11 after authorities allowed the resumption of service on 19 domestic routes.
On October 11, Vietnam Airlines’ VN216 flight departed from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, carrying nearly 120 passengers on wide-body Boeing 787. It was the first commercial flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi after several domestic routes reopened a day earlier.
They all confirmed the host quarantine establishments before departure, tested negative to SARS-CoV-2, received enough vaccine shots, filled out health declarations and followed 5K regulations.
Starting October 10, aviation authorities have decided to restart flights on 19 routes after the government approved an 11-day pilot resumption plan. From Ho Chi Minh City there would be flights to Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Hue, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Hai Phong, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Phu Quoc, Rach Gia and Gia Lai.
There will be flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Can Tho from Hanoi. From Da Nang, flights can be taken to Can Tho City and Buon Ma Thuot in the Central Highlands; and from Thanh Hoa, a flight will take off for Lam Dong Province, home to Da Lat.
So far, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has resumed two-way flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Dong Hoi, Nha Trang, Tuy Hoa, Phu Quoc.
The flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Rach Gia of Ca Mau are run by VASCO, a member of Vietnam Airlines Group.
