Floodwater inundates hundreds of hectares of crops in Central Highlands

Heavy rain over the course of several days has left many localities in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak submerged in water, causing severe damage to hundreds of hectares of crops.

Torrential rain has left many localities throughout Dak Lak province deep in floodwater.

Prolonged downpours starting from October 25 and lasting to October 27 caused Lak district in Dak Lak province to be inundated.

Local authorities help to evacuate residents and property to safe areas in order to ensure the safety of people and limit damage to property.

As of 11 a.m. on October 27 roughly 680 hectares of crops are left inundated in water and over 390 households are submerged in floodwater in Lak district.

Floodwater continues to rise over the course of a few days when heavy rains keep on falling for the impact of a tropical depression.

Rising floodwater causes difficulties for local people to travel on roads.

A similar situation occurs in Ea Kar district, with many crops in the area being deeply flooded.

A local resident’s home in Ea Kar district is heavily flooded.

M’đrắk district endures heavy rain for several days, having a severely negative impact on the daily lives of local people.

Local authorities continue to prepare plans in which to evacuate residents if necessary.
