Naval troops rescue distressed cargo ship
Troops of Submarine Brigade 189 handed over a cargo ship coded Dai Ha 01 with 36 crew-members on board to the local authorities at Cam Ranh International Port on February 15.
Previously, on February 13, the cargo ship had an engine failure about 120 nautical miles off the Southeast of Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province.
Upon receiving the news, Submarine Brigade 189 sent Ship 991 of Fleet 418 to collaborate with relevant forces to conduct the search and rescue mission.
By 2p.m. on February 14, the naval ship reached the cargo ship and began towing it to shore. At 3:30p.m. on February 15, the distressed ship was towed ashore safely.
The cargo ship, which belongs to Toan Phat One Member Limited Liability Company, has a tonnage of 3,000 tons. It is 79.8m in length and has 36 crew-members on board.
