Second flight from Romania brings 291 Vietnamese evacuees from Ukraine back home

The second flight operated by national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, carrying 291 Vietnamese citizens fleeing war-ravaged Ukraine departed Bucharest, Romania for Hanoi on the evening of March 12.

The flight was carefully prepared, with citizen protection work being done thoroughly and timely, thus ensuring the best possible conditions for Vietnamese to return home safe and sound.

Tran The Vinh, a Vietnamese evacuee is moved when getting on the flight with his family. Despite having to leave all his possessions, returning to the home country at this time is an indescribable joy for Vinh. He expresses, “I am happy to see the Government care for Vietnamese people abroad by offering timely rescue flights. I hope that some other stranded people will continue to be supported with such humanitarian flights."

   According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania, Vietnam Airlines flight VN68 carries 291 Vietnamese citizens, including 216 adults (the elderly, pregnant women, and students), 60 children from 2-12 years old, and 15 children under 2 years old, took off at 19:20 (local time) from Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport and landed at Noi Bai International Airport at around 11 am on March 13.
