Two minor quakes jolt Central Highlands province

Two earthquakes struck the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on September 26, causing no human losses, according to the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Geophysics.

The first quake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale hit an area of Kon Plong district at a depth of approximately 8.8km at around 18:35.

Earlier the same day, a 3.0 magnitude quake also shook Kon Plong district at a depth of 15km at about 12:47.

Both quake caused no human and property losses.

The Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre said it is keeping a close watch on the situation in Kon Tum.

On September 24, an earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale also struck Kon Plong district at a depth of 8.1km. It also caused no human and property losses.
