Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki discussed the launch of the "Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative in the New Era," which focuses on green and digital transformation, supply chain resilience, and human resource development.
"Japanese businesses are increasingly interested in Vietnam, particularly in areas like semiconductor manufacturing and infrastructure," Naoki noted. Japan also wants to contribute to Vietnam's national goal of becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.
Ambassador Naoki highlighted Japan's commitment to supporting Vietnam’s infrastructure development, particularly in transportation, energy, and digital technologies. Notably, Japanese businesses are increasing their presence in Vietnam's semiconductor, energy, and retail sectors.
Japan’s expertise in renewable energy technologies, such as offshore wind energy and solar power, will play a key role in helping Vietnam meet its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
The growing number of Vietnamese workers in Japan, now exceeding 600,000, further solidifies the bonds between the two nations. "Therefore, we are also working to improve mechanisms and enhance the environment for young Vietnamese people to choose Japan and for Japan to remain an attractive labor market for Vietnamese youth," he said.

French Ambassador to Vietnam, Olivier Brochet: “Vietnam always knows how to achieve its goals.”
France has been a steadfast partner in Vietnam's development, with both countries committed to fostering peace and stability in the region and the world.
The year 2024 marks many important milestones in Vietnam-France diplomatic relations, with two major events: the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the official visit of General Secretary To Lam to France. The two countries’ upgrade of relations to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership also demonstrates France’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s development in many areas.
Ambassador Olivier Brochet pointed to four key areas of potential cooperation: energy, rail transportation, sustainable agriculture, and human resource training. "France aims to support Vietnam’s energy transformation, ensuring sustainable development while minimizing environmental impact," Brochet said.
Ambassador Brochet specifically pointed to France’s role in Vietnam's energy transition, with a focus on renewable sources like offshore wind and solar power. France is also investing in Vietnam’s infrastructure, including the construction of Metro Line 3 in Hanoi and future high-speed rail projects.
"We are ready to assist in expanding high-speed rail systems, leveraging our expertise in this area," Brochet added. Additionally, France is eager to help Vietnam advance in ecological agriculture and digital administration, supporting sustainable growth across sectors.
Additionally, France is very interested in cooperating with Vietnam in developing ecological agriculture to ensure sustainable development; human resource training... and is ready to support Vietnam in streamlining its political system, administrative reform, and developing an electronic administration.

India and Vietnam, as Comprehensive Strategic Partners, are working to strengthen economic ties through trade agreements and collaboration in high-tech sectors.
Ambassador Sandeep Arya pointed to the ongoing review of the ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) and efforts to streamline business processes. "The goal is to make trade simpler and more business-friendly, creating new opportunities for both countries," Arya said.
India is particularly interested in fostering collaboration in high-tech fields such as 5G telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and space applications. Ambassador Arya noted that Indian companies are already expanding their presence in Vietnam, with notable projects such as the Software Quality Training and Development Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
Ambassador Arya believes the two countries can further deepen cooperation in 5G and 6G telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and defense technology. "These collaborations will promote development through technology and innovation," Arya stated.
