A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang attended the first Global Community Security Cooperation Forum, on November 29.

The Global Community Security Cooperation Forum inherits the core value of security cooperation; that is to ensure security for development, strengthen security cooperation between countries and ensure common security for mutual development, and rely on sustainable development to promote sustainable security cooperation.

The forum was attended by more than 40 leaders of law enforcement agencies of countries and international organizations.

The forum mainly focuses on the four topics: cooperation, creativity, rule of law, win-win approach.

In a recorded speech video broadcasted at the opening ceremony of the forum, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam General To Lam stated that Vietnam advocates the idea that all  security, police, interior affairs as well as international anti-crime organizations together promote unity and friendship, share information, enhance dialogue on the basis of mutual trust, expand cooperation for mutual benefits on the principle of compliance with international law and common standards in order to maintain peace and stability in the region and the world.

Minister To Lam suggested that parties should have common views, build strategic trust and perfect the cooperation framework on solving traditional and non-traditional security challenges as a foundation for international relations and cooperation on the basis of respecting national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests of each country.

The minister also proposed to establish a specific and effective cooperation mechanism and strengthen information sharing among countries at national and agency levels, thereby contributing to early preventing and respond more effectively to security threats.
