Speaking at the event, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that, thanks to the assistance of the MPS and the Ministry of Information and Communications, the MoH successfully launched the national vaccination app. However, it still faces problems and limitations in operating the app.

One of them is, according to the Minister, that 43 million COVID-19 shots administered to citizens have not yet been posted on the National Population Database.

He considered, as inputs of data on vaccine shots to the vaccination database have not been correct or standard, they failed to have been synchronized.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Long stated that the integration of data and authentication of COVID-19 vaccine information will greatly benefit citizens and, in the long run, contribute to developing the public health management apps.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that in the coming time, it is necessary to accelerate information technology application and digital transformation in the health sector, such as using electronic medical records in health check-up and treatment of patients.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that authorities at district and provincial levels should direct the commune-level units to well perform the tasks assigned to them according to Project 06.

He said, Chairpersons of the Communal People’s Committee should establish working groups for the implementation of the project at the communal level, headed by the communal police chief with the participation of the local health, justice and labor sectors.

Such working groups will be tasked with collecting population and vaccination data (number of shots, age of the vaccinated), and personal information (birth and death status of citizens, family backgrounds)

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc took this opportunity to request local police leaders to strictly follow the direction of the Minister of Public Security regarding Project 06 as well as Plan 56 of the MPS to provide online public services to people.

The Deputy Minister added, three public services will be provided online in May, including online registration for the national high school graduation exam (expected to be launched on May 4, 2022), online application for and issuance of ordinary passports (May 15, 2022),while motorbike registration will be executed by communal-level police (May 21, 2022). Therefore, relevant units should pay more attention to cross-check the data on the system in order to update missing and inaccurate information.
