The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony on December 30 to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the criminal investigation force (December 31, 1951-2021).

The event was held in the form of videoconferencing connecting the MPS headquarters in Hanoi with police departments of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

It saw the presence of Minister General To Lam and Deputy Ministers Of Public Security, namely Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang and Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, among other delegates.

At the event, delegates were briefed on the 70-year history of the criminal investigation force, part of the People's Public Security Forces.

In recognition of the force’s achievements and contributions to the fight against crimes over the past seven decades, leaders of the Party and State, and the MPS have awarded them various noble awards and tittles.

Under the authority of the leaders of the Party and State, Minister To Lam awards the first-class “Feat of Arms” Order to the Security Investigation Department under the MPS.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister To Lam hailed that the criminal investigation force has greatly contributed to successfully ensuring security and social safety as well as embellishing the heroic traditions of the People's Public Security Forces.

The Minister said, as the current situation has both advantages and challenges for the force in the fight against crimes, all leaders, officers and soldiers of the criminal investigation force should continue their achievements while staying alert in all situations, striving to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

The force should always be on alert and respect the laws when investigating and handling large-scaled, serious criminal cases, and the force should also conduct all investigations in a scientific and fair manner.

The Minister said investigators should have a warm heart but a col head, and they should have clean hands as well as mettle to overcome any temptations or pressures while trying their best to protect the legitimate rights and interests of agencies, organizations, and people.

The whole criminal investigation force should continue to thoroughly grasp and forecast future crime situations, promptly advise their leaders on appropriate solutions to improve the efficiency of criminal investigation.

The force should improve the efficiency of law enforcement on criminal investigation, expand international cooperation, and effectively handle crime reports in accordance with the laws.
