The Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to open the 9th “For National Security” Sports Festival and the 6th Public Security Regulations, Shooting, and Martial Arts Competition for Sub-region 2, on December 15th, in Phu Tho province.

The sports festival and competition have been participated in by 21 teams with nearly 3,500 athletes, who are police officers and enlistees from police departments of Northern provinces and cities, competing in shooting, 7-a-side football, basic army drill, martial arts, and the Public Security Forces’ ceremonials.

This is an important sports and political event aimed at celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces (August 19th, 1945-2025) and the 20th anniversary of the “All people protecting national security festival.

The sports festival and competition program is of great political significance as it creates a chance for the People’s Police Force to demonstrate its strength, as well as encourages police officers to resolutely fight against crime and heightens a sense of solidarity and sense of responsibility among police officers and enlistees.

The program also requires all police officers and enlistees to be more aware of self-learning and self-training in order to improve their physical strength, professional expertise, and skills, contributing to the building of regular, elite, and modern Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan requested that police officers and enlistees participating in the sports festival and competition should spare no effort to achieve best results in competitions in the spirit of noble sportsmanship, solidarity and comradeship.

After the ceremony, participating teams began competing in basic army drill, martial arts, and qigong at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City packed with thousands of enthusiastic spectators.
