HCM City police ensure security at quarantine facilities

PSNews – As of March 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police Department in cooperation with the local Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control completed checking 2,722 people travelling from other provinces and cities to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

The local police forces also reviewed and verified information about 1,551COVID-19 infected or suspected cases of foreigners and Vietnamese citizens entering Vietnam from other countries via Tan Son Nhat international airport.

The HCM City police also mobilized 1,474 police officers and soldiers to ensure security and order in local quarantine zones, including 35 concentrated quarantine facilities in the city and districts and 50 isolated residential areas. Generally, the security and order situation in the quarantine zones has been maintained with no cases of violating the quarantine regulations.

The HCM City Police Department also assigned 28 police officers and soldiers in collaboration with the Binh Duong Provincial Police Department to patrol and ensure security and order at the concentrated quarantine zone in HCMC National University’s Dormitory.

The police forces of District 1, 2 and Binh Thanh collaborated with local health agencies to ensure security and order, disinfected and isolated the residential places and working places of patients 119 and 120.

The HCMC police also discovered and handled 20 cases of illegal trading and transporting medical facemasks and antiseptic alcohol with 1,406,067 facemasks and 2,202 liters of antiseptic alcohol seized.

In the coming time, the HCMC police will intensify information dissemination about the COVID-19 epidemic to prisoners, regularly clean and sterilize police’s offices as well as detention places, and temporary suspend visits to detention places.

Regarding cases of providing fake news, causing public confusions and instability, the HCMC police will continue cooperating with functional forces to verify and strictly hand violations.
