Bac Ninh province reviews one-year implementation of “Traffic Safety Province” model

The Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee in coordination with the Public Security Central Party Committee organized a meeting to review one-year implementation of the “Traffic Safety Province” model, on the morning of September 22nd, in Bac Ninh.

Member of the Politburo and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

The event also saw the presence of high-ranking delegates, including Minister of Transport and Permanent Vice-Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Ngoc Lam and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan.

After one year implementing the “Traffic Safety Province” model, Bac Ninh province achieved numerous positive results in developing traffic culture in the local community, contributing to promoting provincial socio-economic developments in a sustainable manner as well as the people’s safety and happiness.

During the year, competent agencies of Bac Ninh province actively popularized the road traffic law and related regulations to local people, and completed key transport infrastructure projects ahead of the deadlines.

In addition, the Bac Ninh Provincial Police Department regularly patrolled and strictly handled traffic violations, especially those more likely to lead to traffic accidents.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the initiative by the Ministry of Public Security to pilot-run the “Traffic Safety Province” model in the province.

Pointing out six important lessons, the Prime Minister requested that ministries, branches and localities should bring into full play the positive results of the pilot project and closely coordinate to effectively implement the key tasks of the model.

The Prime Minister also requested that the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport and Bac Ninh province continue to summarize the initial results, draw lessons from the implementation and perfect the model.

The Prime Minister also inqured the Ministry of Tránport and Ministry of Public Security to consider replicating the model in other localities with roadmaps, steps, and methods suitable to the country’s situation in general and each locality in particular.
