General To Lam visits and offers gifts to policy families and poor workers in Hung Yen
Member of the Politburo Minister of Public Security General To Lam, leading a high-ranking inter-sectorial delegation, paid pre-Lunar New Year (Tet) visit and offered gifts to poor households, policy families and workers in difficult circumstances in Hung Yen province, on January 26.
Speaking at the meeting with local people, General To Lam emphasized that the Party and State with social security policies have taken due care of people, particularly disadvantaged ones in recent times.
On national anniversaries, Central agencies, ministries, local authorities, sectors, social organizations and businesses often sent delegations to visit and give gifts to people with meritorious services, the elderly, poor households and people in difficult circumstances.
Over the past years, the local authorities have also attached much importance to taking care of workers in the province as well as the poor; as a result, the multidimensional poverty rate has decreased to less than 0.9%.
General To Lam requested that the Party Committee and authorities of Hung Yen province continue to implement social security policies, take care of policy families, people in difficult circumstances, poor households and workers who have lost their jobs in line with Directive No. 26 of the Secretariat on the celebration of the Year of the Dragon, ensuring that all people in the province enjoy the 2024 Lunar New Year festival in a joyful, safe and healthy manner.
On this occasion, General To Lam presented 600 gifts while representatives from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hung Yen province presented various gifts to policy families, poor people and workers in Hung Yen province.
*On the same day, General To Lam and the delegation visited and gave gifts to the family of fallen officer Dao Van Hung and the family of Mrs. Trinh Thi Ha who are in difficult circumstances in Tan Khai village, Thien Phien commune, Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province.
