Japan assists Vietnam upgrade National Center for Residents Data

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), in coordination with the Japan Embassy in Vietnam, organized a ceremony to exchange diplomatic notes for the non-project aid on providing equipment for MPS's National Center for Residents Data to upgrade its system, on the afternoon of December 18, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki co-chaired the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government and MPS, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long expressed his honor to hand over the Japanese Ambassador the diplomatic notes for the non-project aid, which is part of the Japanese Government's grant aid cooperation program “Socio-Economic Development Plan".

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long underlined that, through the implementation of this non-project aid, Vietnam’s MPS will receive high-tech products from Japanese enterprises to upgrade the system of the National Center for Residents Data.

The non-project aid will help the center meet the need for resource supplementation and enhance the processing capacity of hardware components of the National Population Database, contributing to enhancing the operational efficiency of the entire system.

In addition, the non-project aid aims to provide necessary equipment for administrators to perform their tasks in a flexible and effective manner, ensuring the effectiveness of system management and equipment management to meet the task requirements in the new situation.

In general, the non-project aid will help the center upgrade, expand and modernize its system to meet the requirements for data development in the future, contributing to bettering the management of the national population database.

The host believed that the successful implementation of the non-project aid would contribute to strengthening the Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership in general and cooperation between MPS and Japanese partners in particular.

The Vietnamese Deputy Minister wished that the Japan Embassy in Vietnam would continue support MPS to connect the involved Japanese partners to exchange information, share experience and together deal with issues arising during the implementation of the non-project aid.

Underscoring the great significance of the non-project aid, Ambassador Ito Naoki expressed his confidence that, with the close coordination and great effort of MPS, the non-project aid will be successfully deployed, bringing practical benefits to both sides.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Japanese Embassy will always accompany and provide maximum support for MPS with the aim of ensuring the best results of cooperative projects between the two sides.
