MPS actively promotes cooperation with INTERPOL and its members
Chief of the Office of the Criminal Investigation Authority of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (MPS) Major General Tran Minh Tien, leading a delegation of the Vietnam INTERPOL Office, attended the 20th INTERPOL Heads of National Central Bureaus (NCBs) Conference held in Lyon, France, from February 11th to 13th, 2025.
Chief of the Office of the Criminal Investigation Authority of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (MPS) Major General Tran Minh Tien, leading a delegation of the Vietnam INTERPOL Office, attended the 20th INTERPOL Heads of National Central Bureaus (NCBs) Conference held in Lyon, France, from February 11th to 13th, 2025.

The conference was attended by over 400 delegates from 140 INTERPOL member countries.
At the conference, delegates reviewed the implementation of agreements, adopted at the 19th INTERPOL Heads of NCBs Conference, on enhancing the capacity of the INTERPOL NCBs network, strengthening cooperation among NCBs in sharing criminal information and arresting dangerous wanted fugitives, as well as deploying INTERPOL programs and operations against transnational crime.
In addition, heads of INTERPOL NCBs from countries also shared their insights on the global security situation and hands-on experiences in combating and dismantling organized criminal groups, addressing terrorist threats in some regions, as well as the development of cybercrime in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
In addition to the plenary sessions, delegates from Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East-North Africa, and Asia-Pacific participated respectively in regional roundtable conferences of to focus their discussions on specific threats to each region, including online financial fraud, online child sexual exploitation, human trafficking, drug-related crime and terrorism, as well as INTERPOL’s supports tailored to the needs of each region.
At the 20th edition of NCBs, delegates adopted four key resolutions aimed at strengthening the INTERPOL NCBs network to enhance the efficiency of international law enforcement efforts.
* During the event, Major General Tran Minh Tien had a meeting with INTERPOL Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza, as well as meetings with representatives from INTERPOL's Cybercrime and Notices and Diffusions.
INTERPOL officials highly appreciated the close cooperation between INTERPOL and the Vietnam’s MPS, particularly with the Vietnam INTERPOL Office, in combating transnational crime, stressing that the cooperation is not only a shared priority but also serves as a firm foundation for the two side to strengthen their strategic trust, contributing to maintaining security and order in the region and the world.
* On the sidelines of the conference, the Vietnam INTERPOL Office delegation also had meetings with delegations of the U.S. INTERPOL Office and the Singapore INTERPOL Office.
